Discover Scuba DivingDuration: Half dayCost: $75![]() Diver entering the Water Photo by Adam Laverty Discover Scuba Diving is a half day introduction to Scuba Diving. You do not need any previous experience whatsoever. It is not a certification but a fun way to try out diving. It is an ideal course for those who are unsure if scuba diving is for them or are on a time limited schedule and just want to get ito the water as fast as possible. You receive a brief overview of the theory of diving, a few exercises in shallow water, followed by a wonderful dive on a beautiful reef. If you should decide to continue with a full course, this experience can be credited to the Scuba Diver Course or the Open Water Diver Course. Go on, take the plunge. You´ll love it!

The course lasts 3 to 4 days with group sizes no larger than 6, usually 4, in any teaching group, and certifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 18m/60ft. The course includes a review of diving theory, confined water dives and 4 open water dives. The theory teaches you the important information to enable you to dive safely and enjoyably, the confined water dives teaches you the necessary skills, in shallow water, so you will feel safe and confident. This is followed by 4 open water dives that allow you to put everything into practice, while enjoying tours under the guidance of your instructor on the pristine reefs here on Utila. Scuba DiverDuration: 2 to 3 daysCost:$175The PADI Scuba Diver Course is an option for those unable to complete the entire PADI Open Water Course. It consists of Academic training, Confined Water and 2 Certification dives which will allow you to dive to a depth of 12m/40ft. There are 2 core dives and 3 electives. The core dives are: Deep Dive to 30m/100ft and Navigation Dive. For the three electives you can choose from Night Dive, Underwater Naturalist, Photography, Wreck or many others. The Advanced course allows you to dive in different situations, enjoy night dives and a host of other activities, safely and with the appropriate knowledge. Adventures In DivingRequirements: Open Water CertificationDuration: Half dayCost: $165Requires only 3 Adventure Dives and may be completed in as little as 1 Day. Emergency First ResponseDuration: Half dayCost: $60The EFR (Emergency First Response) course teaches the basics of first aid and CPR (CardioPulmonary Resuscitation). It is not soley for diving related incidents. The EFR course is designed to qualify you as an Emergency First Responder, and is a qualification recognized worldwide. A current First Aid and CPR certification is a pre-requisite to the PADI Rescue Diver Course, and is very useful training in any walk of life. Not only will you learn to help others, but you will also learn to help yourself. This course is regularly declared the most rewarding course by divers who complete it. Over the 4 days of the course your instructor will guide you through theory sessions and confined water training dives where you learn the skills required. The course ends by completing realistic scenarios in which you manage various aspects of diver rescue under the supervision of your instructor. DivemasterRequirements: Rescue DiverDuration: 4 to 6 weeks recommendedCost: $750The PADI Divemaster Course is the fist proffesional rating in the PADI system. It includes various areas of study including Physics, Physiology, and also Skills & Environment. your instructor will insure you receive PADI required training including information sessions, progress checks, discussions, and the opportunity to discuss and ask questions about your education. You will get to work with all shop instructors as part of your training includes assisting students in classes. After you complete your studies, you will take the PADI Divemaster exams, which are written tests on the topics you studied. Once finished you will be a certified PADI Divemaster, this allows you to run certain PADI courses such as the Scuba Tune-up and Supervising Certified Divers. You will also be able to run the Discover Snorkeling course.
