SSI Cross Over Program

The SSI Crossover Program is to provide an orientation to SSI philosophies and procedures to dive professionals from other recognized scuba training agencies. It provides the knowledge and skills needed to conduct SSI programs equivalent to their existing qualifications in a safe and enjoyable manner. Upon completion you will be certified as an SSI Dive Professional commensurate with your previous certification and experience.

Switching dive organizations can be very beneficial for a dive instructor or dive center. It can bring challenges that may work out great or the other way around.

There are over hundred recreational SCUBA certification agencies in the world. PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) and SSI (Scuba Schools International) are the biggest, by far. Both are members of the World Recreational Scuba Training Council and the European Underwater Federation, among others. This means that there is a minimum level of quality and safety standards (like ISO standards) in the SCUBA instruction.

Home study (2-3 days): Once you sign up, you will download a digital kit and begin studying the materials so that you are fully prepared when the course starts.

Academics:

Here we will become familiar with the SSI teaching system and philosophy and refresh some dive theory.

Watermanship skills:

700m snorkel swim
25 meter underwater swim (with fins),
15-minute water tread
100m tired diver tow

Skills demonstration evaluation:

We will polish up your skills up to demonstration level quality and we’ll get you completely comfortable with the SSI specific skills.

Rescue skills workshop:

Here we will revise all the rescue skills so you’re prepared to teach SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course.
Final exam and final performance evaluation
